Disappointment and Progress

Today was going to be a special day for us, as we found a man in Huonville who was willing to open his home to us for a Bible discussion. With 5 children and several relatives in the area who are far from God, this was a wonderful opportunity to reach many people. Unfortunately he suddenly changed his mind a few hours before we were to begin today. Please pray for Ken, that he will open his heart and his home to us once again. This has been particularly discouraging for me, so pray for me as well that I don’t lose any confidence in what God wants to do.

On a more positive note, we began a TFT disciple training group at the home of Carlos & Josephine earlier this week, and we are off to a great start. Several people were unable to attend the intro session, so I caught them up yesterday. In total we have 8 participants in this new group. Pray that they will gain confidence and skill in reaching people and making disciples!

Many of you who receive this are presently leading a group or church. Here are some of the questions I routinely ask myself, that you should consider as well:
– Am I casting a clear vision of what God wants to do in reaching our people group?
– Am I expecting people in our groups to share with others what they are learning?
– Do I keep disciples accountable to witness obediently?
– When disciples witness, do they give people an opportunity to make a decision for Christ?
– Who else can I begin training immediately?
– Are we actively searching for a person of peace in whose home we can start a new group?

These are sometimes difficult questions to ask ourselves, but they will make or break a movement among the people we are trying to reach. Please give serious and prayerful thought to each one.

Pray for continued momentum. To date, we have seen an average of 2 new groups started each month this year, and I am pleased to see a dramatic increase in gospel witness as well as leadership. But there is much work to be done.
