Return from America

This morning I returned from my trip to the USA to visit my father, whose health was failing rapidly. Unfortunately I did not get there in time to see him, as he passed away the evening before I arrived. But it truly was a blessing to reconnect with my family, particularly my siblings and my mother who appreciated my presence during those difficult days. Dad’s funeral, while sad, was a celebration as he knew the Lord and is with Him now! My deepest thanks to all of you who have encouraged us and prayed for us throughout these past weeks.

On the way home I followed through with my planned visit to New Zealand, and this proved to be a very exciting and fruitful time. I was accompanied by Andy Arnette, our partner in Sydney. We met with Brian, a pastor who has studied church planting movements and wants to stimulate CPM work to reach the north end of his island country. Brian introduced us to 6 local pastors and leaders from around the north so we could share our story and do some impromptu equipping. We led a training session on Saturday afternoon and then preached to his 120-some congregation to stimulate their thinking about training disciples. We also met Tony who is very keen to start some new work in Auckland. Rejoice with me that God has opened some wonderful doors to work alongside Kingdom partners in N.Z.!

In May I will be conducting AIM training in Melbourne and Adelaide to equip some eager workers in those cities, both of which include a number of Congolese refugees interested in impacting Australia.

In Luke 10.2 Jesus commanded the apostles to pray for workers. Join me in praying fervently that God will raise up an army of willing workers to start and spread new work in new areas, until everyone in Australia has heard the Good Message.
