Much has happened in the past few months that I can only explain as the power of the Holy Spirit at work in the lives of people. Among these is a CPM stream which has taken the gospel message from Tasmania to Manila, capital city of the Philippines. In October, an Australian man named Peter left the church which meets in the home of Carlos & Josephine, moving to the Philippines. While he was there, he attended a church and described his experiences with Training Faithful Trainers in Hobart. Pastor Vher took great interest in learning about this new method, but Peter didn’t quite have the confidence to lead it, so he pointed the pastor back to Carlos in Hobart. Faithfully, Carlos & Jo began to train pastor Vher over a Skype connection. Within 3 weeks, Vher had 9 of his church leaders participating in TFT training via Skype.
By the end of November, the church in Manila reported having started 7 new disciple training groups, and at present there are 15 TFT groups operating throughout Manila. Around Christmas time this church decided to hold a summit to promote TFT, so on January 20 they invited people from many churches to participate in a combined celebration and vision-casting event. A total of 78 people attended, and 9 people were baptized. We had the wonderful privilege of watching part of this event via Skype on that afternoon, and a few of us shared words of testimony and encouragement with those attending.
We pray that God will continue to move in amazing ways throughout Manila and beyond!
